Claire Sherwood Assignment #11
I really enjoyed this particular Skype session with Claire Sherwood. I believe I enjoyed this particular interview because she so far has been the most relatable and sociable of all of the artist that we have spoke to. Jason Hackett Assignment #9

I found the skype interview with Jason Hackett to be interesting, however I am not sure I understood the concept of his art as much as I did with Tim Roda. I found his ideas to be less personable, even with his explanations. On the other hand I did find him interesting to listen and talk to as a person due to his personality and clear train of thought through out the interview. I think found his work to be interesting, however it is not the type of art work I would personally gravitate to. Once again, I found this to be a helpful exercise and enjoyable.

Assignment #7
I really enjoyed the Skype presentation with Tim Roda. I think it defiantly gave me a new perspective on looking at art work and photography, in the sense that the stories behind the image in not exactly what I would expect. I think he was very personable, and easy for us students to talk to which was nice, as a opposed to talking to professors all the time. I also think it was interesting that he seemed to use his art as a therapy type process, dealing with his childhood family issues. I also think it was good that he accepted this and was able to move on in his life, with his own family instead of holding on to his personal issues and drag his family down. Overall, I think this class assignment was one of the more beneficial the us just looking at his website.

Assignment #6

We believe that this photograph depicts some sort of Super Market, or possibly even a convenient type store. When looking at the picture it seems as though someone has taken a picture of the stores isles from above, showing all types of products. While the picture was over whelming to look at, it did not emotionally impact us in anyway. While the photograph depicts a vast product range, and color scheme there is no personification that creates emotional ties. It is possible that before taking the picture the photographer noticed the wide of variety of colors and the range of brands through similar products. It is possible that if products were purchased after the photograph was taken, that some of the color and product range would disappear. We believe that this photograph is trying to convey that the United States is a consumeristic society, structured around a monetary agenda. It is possible that the photographer was using the abundance of brands and products to show our opportunities to buy a wide range consumer products, as well the companies profiting from our consumption.

Color Assignment #4
My favorite color is Teal. When looking through my personal belongings and color scheme of my room it is clear that this particular color is a color I respond to and find visually appealing. One thing I have noticed I that I seem to be attracted to cool colors, and tend to shy away from warm colors such as red and pink. The color teal which is a combination of a bluish green is just that, a combination of cool colors. This particular color also helps me feel slightly at ease, because to me teal is a calming color. As a person who tends to be anxious with school and the frustrations of every day life, I find it nice to surround myself with colors I find relaxing. Finally, although it is a fairly simple and basic reason, I find the color teal to just simply be a beautiful color.
